PAPREC ACQUIRES VAN GANSEWINKEL'S FRENCH SUBSIDIARYA strengthening of Paprec’s presence in its historical activities in the Nord département.
Van Gansewinkel France is a regional recycling company, based in Béthune (F-62), processing 80,000 tonnes of waste per year, half of which is paper, the other half comprising wood, plastics and industrial waste. The company employs 70 people and has turnover of about 15 million euros. This activity goes back a long way in the region, previously in the form of the Nord Recylage, Gibert Recylage and Del Rosso entities.
The sale is part of the strategy of Van Gansewinkel’s, which seeks to concentrate primarily on strengthening its position as market leader in the Benelux.
Van Gansewinkel France’s activities are part of the core business of the Paprec Group, the French specialist in recycling and recovering materials. This transaction strengthens the group’s presence in the Nord–Pas de Calais–Picardy region by adding to its already-existing regional network at Harnes and Quesnoy sur Deûle (Lille conurbation).
Jean-Luc Petithuguenin, founder and CEO of Paprec Group, stated: “The acquisition of Van Gansewinkel France is fully in line with the strategy of strengthening Paprec’s market share in its historical activities in the Nord département of France. I would like to welcome the 70 employees who are joining us in the recycling adventure. For the past 25 years, we have been spearheading the great transformation that is under way, whereby waste is recovered as a priority instead of being discharged into landfill or incinerated. The circular economy is central to our business project, and recycling offers us the opportunity to go further in treatment methods that reduce carbon emissions.”
Wim Geens, Van Gansewinkel’s Director for Belgium and Luxembourg, stated “As part of our strategy, which as a priority aims to concentrate on strengthening our position of market leader in the Benelux countries, we have found the best possible partner. I am pleased to see the employees of Van Gansewinkel France join a family business that is growing fast and will give them the means to maintain the business momentum that we have put in motion.”
For Paprec Group: Process led by Paprec Group (Charles-Antoine Blanc and Jérémy Kowal), Weil, Gotshal & Manges (Frédéric Cazals, Anna Blot), EY (Emmanuel Picard, Richard le Piouffle).
For Van Gansewinkel: KPMG Corporate Finance (Julian Parsons, Nicolas Manceau, Alban Miclo, Anthony Rivares), Fidal (Christine Blaise-Engel and Anne Frotté from the Paris office, Alice Baillet and Jean-François Blaret from the Lille office).
