At the initiative of STR-PVC, the association for PVC pipes and connectors, a pilot operation was launched to increase the recovery and recycling of plastic pipes and connectors in France.

For the very first time, a partnership was created between a distributor, the trade specialist PUM Plastiques, and a recycler, PAPREC Plastiques, in order to :

• Tap new sources of waste generated by users and small businesses,
• Develop new services for customers that allow them to anticipate potential landfill bans.

With PAPREC Plastiques’ placement of skips at the PUM Plastiques agencies in Rennes and Limay, customers will be able to freely dispose of their used plastic pipes and connectors for recycling. The operation, initially launched at two agencies, will expand over the coming months to other PUM Plastiques sites. To formalise this partnership, an agreement was signed between Sibylle DAUNIS, Managing Director of PUM Plastiques, Sébastien PETITHUGUENIN, Managing Director of PAPREC Plastiques and Benoit HENNAUT, Chairman of STR-PVC.

This pilot operation was launched on 24 October, and regular updates will be sent out.
